Solopos.com, SOLO — The quality of lecturers at the Faculty of Engineering (FT), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Solo is expected to increase by recruiting two post-doctoral fellows to teach at the local campus.
Two FT UNS lecturers have completed the Post Doctoral program namely Fitrian Imaduddin, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D and Ofita Purwani, S.T., M.T., Ph.D.

Fitrian Imaduddin attended the Post Doctoral program at the Islamic University of Medina from April 1, 2022 to December 31 2022 with funding from the Islamic University of Medina Urban Studies Foundation.
Meanwhile, Ofita Purwani took part in the Post Doctoral program at the National University of Singapore (NUS) for nine months, from 13 December 2021 to 12 September 2022 with funding from the Urban Studies Foundation.
The program of activities is intended to improve teaching staff quality and support the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (IKU) of State Universities and Higher Education Service Institutions within the Ministry of Education and Culture.
“This activity is covered by a contractual agreement between the person who concerned and the university leadership,” said the Dean of Engineering Faculty UNS, Dr. techn. Sholihin As’ad, M.T., to Solopos recently.
The program’s director, Prof. Dr. Wahyudi Sutopo, S.T., M.Si, explained during the post-doctoral activity, the two lecturers were obliged to submit daily duties to direct or otherwise designated superior officers; reporting to representatives of the republic of Indonesia in the country where post-doctoral activities are carried out; Report the address of the institution and residence to the work unit leader, reporting the change of residence address to the working unit leader.
“Key Performance Indicator [KPI] that must be achieved is to publish an international journal with Scopus index regarding the affiliate from UNS in every field of expertise which is consistent with the first study program, carried-out the team-teaching with the partner from foreigners, carry out the mentoring activity for the degree student and the master student,” said Wahyudi Sutopo who is Deputy Dean of HR, Finance and Logistic, Engineering Faculty UNS, when met by Solopos in the office recently.
In addition, Wahyudi, a member of the post-doctoral program, was also obliged to report the work of post-doctoral activities to the head of the work unit periodically; Report on the implementation of the post-doctoral work to the representatives of the country where post-doctoral activities are considered as official assessments of employment.
“They were also obliged to return to the original labor unit on first occasion after the end of postdoctoral activity; Reporting in writing to the leadership of the labor unit one month after completing the postdoctoral or post-doctoral work term; Submitted a written report on the KPI that had been reached; And made the contribution payable according to workable regulations,” he added.
Wahyudi named the post-doctoral recruiting program affected significantly the attainment of the five technical programs, including the ability to make a revenue contribution to the UNS.
